Here's What Clients Have To Say About Paul...
Hello Jim,
If you could only hear us moan & groan for two full days following a workout, you would fall over laughing! "Dan & I are very pleased with our personal training, and we look forward to each session! Our daily energy level has increased a lot, we are much more in tune with our physical well being, and we are eating much healthier (mostly fresh fruits & vegetables, dairy, and meat). Paul is a very ideal trainer for us because he is so down to earth, and his demeanor & method of training is always calm and pleasant. It seems like he continually comes up with new exercises to find muscles that we never knew we had. Paul is very tuned in to our different limitations and does a great job coordinating our workouts accordingly.
Thank you for providing this wonderful service!

Hi Jim,
"The training is going fantastic!!! I was ready for a major change in my life and this is exactly what I needed!" Paul is a great trainer and I appreciate his flexibility with my schedule. He knows when to push me further and he knows when I'm at my limit. I recommended him already to some friends. I am a little sore this weekend but am looking forward to next week. Thanks for checking in.

Hi Jim,
I'm doing really well with the training. Thanks for asking. Paul is an excellent trainer, and I'm enjoying how hard he is pushing me twice a week. I look forward to our sessions b/c I know I'll get a good cardio workout AND tone from head to toe. It was so beautiful outside yesterday that we decided to train outside, and it has motivated me to work even harder since I know swimsuit season is around the corner. I told Paul that my clothes are starting to fit better and I feel healthier. I'm still working on my diet (hello sweet tooth!), but that has even improved. "So, overall I am very happy with the training sessions....I just don't want them to end! I know for sure that when working out with Paul, he pushes me a lot harder than I could push myself...more changes in my body are inevitable! Thanks!"
Sharon Cassidy - Darnestown, MD
Hi Jim!
Paul is awesome! I had a minor set back and need to have knee surgery...(an old and compounded injury).....so we pretty much have had to concentrate on my upper body. Because of my knee, my cardio pretty much consists of a stability ball and boxing drills. Who would of thought I could break a sweat in a seated position? "The injury notwithstanding, Paul has found away to take someone who absolutely hated to exercise to someone who can't wait to get breathless!" His great sense of humor make the workouts even more fun if possible. I will be starting a second six week session next week.
"I feel better and I look better, and the best part is... people are noticing the difference! I am so glad I did this for me!!!" So thanks to you for having the service in the area...and of course thanks to Paul for making me sweat!!

Questions and Answers
with Paul Coughlin
Below Paul explains how he got into the business of personal training,
his overall approach with clients, his fitness philosophies and more.
Q: Why did you choose to become a personal trainer?
A: Being into athletics and personal training most of my life I wanted to share my enthusiasm for personal fitness and overall well being. I think when someone can take control of their body and lifestyle it makes them a much more complete and happy person. With a growing level of obesity I know that I can help groups of people achieve success in this area of their life.
Q: How are you different then other personal trainers? What is your specialty?
A: Being very energetic and having a great personality helps. I also have a sports fitness degree and was a college athlete. This definitely helps me in this field. I think my specialty is overall personal health. Cardio, light muscle training and nutrition.
Q: What is your biggest challenge that you face when training clients?
A: Motivating and keeping clients honest with themselves when they are away from our training sessions. Motivation and honesty will help their programs and maximize their success.
Q: How do you deal with clients who aren't serious?
A: I learned in school and even realized with myself that if you aren't ready to change, you won't. I try to show my client the negative affect on your body with poor lifestyle. If you have taken the first step to get in contact with a trainer, you are ready to dedicate yourself to change for the better. My part in this is to keep you motivated.
Q: What is the most important component to personal training that you advocate to clients?
A: I advocate healthy lifestyles. I try my best to help them understand that being healthy is the most Important thing and that this is a way of life. To break it
down even more - strength, cardio and, nutrition are what you need to
concentrate on. If you don't have the time, at least get your cardio in and eat well.
Q: What are your strengths as a trainer? weaknesses?
A: I have a positive energy that tends to rub off on my clients. I am able to motivate them to perform better, and push themselves further than they believed they could. My weakness is that I'm not an early morning fan when it comes to work.
Q: What do you think of the ever popular Atkins Diet??
A: I think this diet as with any other fad diet is horrible for your body. Using the food pyramid that you learned in middle school is all you need to know.
Q: What question do you come across most with clients?
A: When will you see the results? Every person is different. It all comes down to if your going to be motivated and honest with your diet and workout. If you are, you will see improvement.
Q: Who is your favorite fitness author?
A: I think Covert Bailey inspired me the most with his down to earth style of teaching
Q: Who has been your greatest success story?
A: Me. From being lazy and out of shape to now being a working model that has been in several health magazines.
Q: What is your advice for clients first starting a fitness program?
A: The best advice I can give is to believe in yourself, and not to give up!! Your going to struggle for a while but I promise you when you get over the hill it will be a breeze!
Q: What type of training do you prefer, one-on-one or group? Why?
A: I prefer one-on-one, because it is more personal and easier for both the trainer and client to focus and achieve our goals more quickly.
Q: What are your personal goals for the future?
A: My personal goals for the future are to establish myself as an exemplary personal trainer and reach out to as many people as possible and share my enthusiasm for personal fitness and health, while doing this reach a level of success that will comfortably support me and my family.
